I simply had to share my unfounded joy…

I simply had to share my unfounded joy with someone this morning! Must there be a reason? Sometimes, the gates flood light instead of darkness; what an amazing feeling! I spent last night listening to Barbra Streisand, Judy Garland and all the soulful greats. One of our generations latest singers, a voice that has not been lauded enough as it should of the band “Black Dub”, Trixie Whitley, reminds us that soul music is any musical expression that comes from the heart and soul. It doesn’t have to be classified as rhythm and blues, jazz, etc., for it to be soulful.

As Judy and Barbra belt out their duet of Get Happy/Happy Days Are Here Again, you can feel the spirit in their voices and the melodic atmosphere that transports you to a world of blue skies and grace….somewhere far over the rainbow.

Take this soul into your heart and express it in all that you do today and beyond. I reminded a girlfriend yesterday that we cannot hold onto our troubles as we so often do; forget them, let them go. You must have something at the ready to shout your blues away; I have my own saying, but I’d like to offer another.

When the blues close in on you, simply shout, Hallelujah, come on get happy! Remember, happy days are not so few and far between as you may believe. Often, they are just beyond the immediate, waiting to greet you on the horizon. Maybe that day will be today. Here’s to happy times; here’s to today. My hallelujah Sunday morning.

Love, Dorhora
